Since its launch in 2002 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) free zone has worked towards its vision to become an internationally recognized location of choice for quality healthcare and an integrated center of excellence for clinical and wellness services, medical education and research.
Dubai Healthcare City brings together core healthcare services, attracting the best in class global and regional names, as well as a network of businesses from hospitality to consultancies and retail outlets. DHCC has its independent regulatory body and facilitates end-to-end business set-up. The free zone consists of Phase 1, dedicated to healthcare and medical education, occupying 4 million square feet and Phase 2 occupies 19 million square feet with focus on healthcare and wellness with a strong residential component.

Dubai Healthcare City has a thriving health and wellness ecosystem which enables healthcare, medical education and research delivery. The free zone is home to more than 190 clinical facilities, several educational institutions including the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Al Jalila Foundation with its recently launched Mohammed Bin Rashid Medical Research Institute.
DHCC offers a thriving community with 400+ facilities with names including renowned global and regional clinical facilities and regional headquarters. The free zone is also home to three hotels, a Dubai metro station and tens of restaurants and cafes providing an exceptional experience for visitors to our destination.

The backbone of our healthcare model is an independent regulatory body, Dubai Healthcare City-Regulatory, whose standards are accredited by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), a global leader in accreditation. Setting up a business is done through Masaar (dhcr.gov.ae/en/E-Services), an e-services system that combines clinical and commercial activities, and is integrated with government and non-government agencies.
